The Winter Fly-In Drone Meetup and Obstacle Course Competition aims to promote the rapidly growing drone industry through exciting, skilled competition and a strong emphasis on safety awareness. By inviting high school and middle school students to engage with adult enthusiasts and industry professionals, we create a fun and educational environment where young minds can explore the possibilities of drone technology. Our event fosters community, inspires innovation, and encourages the next generation to soar to new heights in the world of drones.
We will be racing against the clock through our huge drone obstacle course and test you flying skills in the NIST lane course. Trophies will be award in multiple categories for fastest times in both courses.
All drones must be 340 grams or less. Prop guards must be used on all participating drones (many model prop guard models will be available for use). DJI Neo drones will be available for use if you don’t have a drone or don’t have a drone that meets our safety requirement. Safety glasses are recommended inside the fly space. We have addressed many safety concerns to insure a great event. We will have a Safety brief before the event starts from our course crew. The area has a fenced in space separating viewers from the flight area.
The Venue is Indoors, at the Tuckahoe Sports Training Complex in Henrico County. Located in the back of the Tuckahoe little league baseball fields, this is a state of the art sports facility. The space is perfect for this event, warm and dry with an artificial turf floor and 40 foot ceilings. The complex will have Pizza and Soft drinks available for purchase.
We will have vendors like I Repair MD there to show off their drone repair services. If you are interested in showing your drone related business give us a call.
